The archetype of the world's best-selling superhero and comic book hero, it is of course Clark Kent, aka Kal-El, better known as Superman. He appears in no less than ten films and more than 70 comic books. My "Superman" reference remains that of the cartoon of my childhood: Superman, the Angel of Metropolis , well before Tom Welling or Henry Cavill. Originally created in 1933 and now in the public domain, here it is this time in a worn version.
